3G SHUTDOWN
As of October 28, 2024, any device that operates on the 3G network will no longer function. This means 3G devices will be unable to make outbound SOS calls, send SMS messages, or receive inbound calls—including calls to emergency services (Triple Zero, 000). Additionally, some 4G devices may also be impacted by the 3G shutdown. If this is the case, one of two actions will be required to restore functionality. Please see the instructions below for guidance.
3G Devices Impacted
The following devices are 3G models and will cease to function once the 3G network is shut down. These devices must be replaced with a new 4G model.
To take advantage of MindMe's exclusive 4G replacement offer, please contact us at 1300 776 907 or email us at info@mindme.com.au for more information.

MindMe Watch
4G Device Impacted
The MindMe Watch X is the only 4G device that may be affected by the 3G shutdown. However, these devices will NOT need to be replaced. Please see below for the required actions based on the purchase date of your device.
- MindMe Watch X Purchased DURING 2021
- MindMe Watch X Purchased AFTER 2021
Some MindMe Watch X devices purchased in 2021 may require a firmware upgrade to maintain functionality. To determine if your device needs this update, please follow these steps:
1. Verify that there is sufficient credit on the SIM card installed in the device.
3. Press and hold the SOS button on the MindMe Watch X. If the device performs the emergency procedure as usual, no upgrade is necessary.
4. If the device does not perform the standard emergency procedure, please contact MindMe at 1300 776 907 or email info@mindme.com.au.
For all MindMe Watch X devices purchased after 2021, please ensure that the VoLTE feature is enabled.
VoLTE (Voice over LTE) allows voice calls to operate over the 4G LTE network rather than the discontinued 3G network.
To confirm that VoLTE is turned on, please follow the steps directly on your MindMe Watch X device. Click the button below for video instructions.
